Setting Families Up for Success: Understanding the Breastfeeding Newborn & Building Early Confidence
In this course we explore how newborn behavior is driven by Increased Prolactin Levels & Building Breastmilk Supply. This insight is the single best predictor of breastfeeding success. Beyond positioning and latch, understanding their breastfeeding newborn´s behavior empowers parents with confidence and builds a strong foundation for a rewarding breastfeeding journey. Frequent feedings during the first days and weeks, when Prolactin Levels are highest, while normal behavior for a breastfeeding newborn, can be easily misinterpreted as an unsatisfied baby and mom starts thinking she has an insufficient supply. It is easy to see how a better understanding of normal breastfeeding behavior could make all the difference.
In this course you will learn to teach parents how to recognize the signs of milk transfer, “Golden Reassurance”. This along with education on normal newborn behavior and how it is influenced by breastfeeding is how we Set Families Up For Success.
